2012 Taiwan Trade Mission to Turkey, Hungary, Poland & Russia
4th – 22nd April, 2012
The Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), the foremost non-profit trade promotion organization in Taiwan, is leading a delegation of 45 Taiwanese enterprises to visit Turkey, Hungary, Poland and Russia from April 4th to 22nd. On this 16-day visit, the delegates will explore the many opportunities that are available in these emerging markets, and seek to strengthen cooperative ties with their partners there.
Today’s Taiwan is globally recognized for its technological innovation as well as superior quality products and services. As a leading supplier in the global marketplace, Taiwanese enterprises utilize their extensive experience, expertise, and know-how to meet every customer’s needs.
According to economic assessments released by major international institutions, Taiwan continued to stand out in global rankings such as growth competitiveness, favorable business environment, and technological innovation. Taiwan was ranked 13th among the 142 countries in the 2010-2011 Global Competitiveness Report of the World Economic Forum (WEF). Taiwan's investment environment also ranked 3rd among 50 countries in the world in a 2012 report by Business Environment Risk Intelligence (BERI). Furthermore, Taiwan was rated the world's 25th easiest place to do business in, according to World Bank's annual report, released on Oct 20, 2011.
Moreover, the signing of the Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA) between Taiwan and China in June 2010 has paved the way for more trade pacts in the years to come. The preferential trade agreement will help Taiwan link up with the whole Asia-Pacific region, thus strengthening its position as a global distribution hub.
In order to satisfy buyers’ sourcing requirements, the Taiwanese delegation will conduct trade meetings in each of these four countries and present a broad range of products that include ICT products, hand tools and metal hardware, industrial machines, dietary supplements, health food, automobile parts, housewares and furniture, beauty and healthcare products, processed food, baby products, home decors, fashion accessories, electrical/electronic gadgets, components, and accessories, LED lighting products and devices, stainless steel products, industrial products (e.g., tapes, abrasives, air diffusers, hose clamps, etc.) , fitness equipment and many more.
Through this event, local businesspeople will have the unique opportunity of meeting the delegates in person to discuss possible business cooperation. The dates and locations of the trade meetings are as follows:
