  THAIFEX 2017, Bangkok, May 31st – June 4th   

Taiwan, the 5th Largest Country Group with

67 Exhibitors to attend THAIFEX 2017

Development Council (TAITRA) are leading 20 quality Taiwanese certified suppliers/manufacturers and 4 food associations to exhibit in the 13th THAIFEX, at the Impact Exhibition Center in Bangkok , from May 31st to June 4th, 2017. This is the second time that TAITRA attends THAIFEX, inviting the Taiwan Regional Association of Preserved Fruits, the Taiwan Confectionery, the Biscuit & Floury Food Industry Association, and Taiwan Quality Food Association, and the WORLD TRADE CENTER TAICHUNG to join forces along. 

TAITRA’s involvement has drastically added weight to Taiwanese private sector’s involvement and exposure in THAIFEX, making Taiwan the 5th biggest among the 20 other participating countries. Altogether, 67 Taiwanese suppliers using 96 booths (867 sqm) will be on exhibit.

A variety of quality assuring product lines made in Taiwan, certified with HALAL, HACCP, EC, SQF, ISO 9001, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, OHSAS 18001, USDA Organic, Taiwan TQF, Taiwan SNQ, or Taiwan CAS standards, are to be introduced at THAIFEX 2017. The Taiwan Pavilion will highlight Taiwan’s halal industry as well as the Taiwanese seafood industry, while promoting a variety of snacks and biscuits, organic and functional food, vegetarian and vegan food, coffee, teas and other beverages, frozen processed food, ice cream, sauces, seasonings, and agricultural produce.

Thailand and Taiwan have both been recognized as the lands of gourmets, while Thailand is known for her abundant agricultural produce, Taiwan is known for her outstanding food processing technologies. Over the past years the bilateral trade of agricultural produce between Taiwan and Thailand has maintained a strong bond, reaching over US $850 million with trade peaking in 2012 at US $886.56 million. In 2016, Taiwan exported US$220 million of agricultural products to Thailand, a 0.8% slight decrease from the 2015, making Thailand the 6th biggest export country for Taiwan. In the same year, Taiwan imported over US$633.8 million of agricultural products from Thailand, a 11.3% decrease from 2015, making Thailand the 7th biggest export partner of Taiwan.
